Another sad day in the online gaming industry as an independently-developed high quality MMORPG has to close down.  In the current world market, it is difficult to make anything outside what the mainstream wants, and when you create a more sandbox game things get difficult.  We had the opinion among the MMO Sanctuary staff that they should have IMMEDIATELY begun to offer some sort of subscription-free option to compete with even the mainstream games who have gone that route.  There is a lot to be said for the crafty method that allows players to "pay as they play" and it interests a lot more gamers these days.

Hopefully this will only be a temporary situation and someone out there, either a publisher or investors, will decide to pick up this game and help them make use of its potential.
